Ranked #11 of 15 Contains a prostaglandin analogue

RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum

One of the first mass-market lash serums in UK pharmacies, and still one of the most widely stocked. The formula is built on isopropyl cloprostenate, and its high-street availability is exactly why that is worth flagging.

What is in it

A better supporting formula than we expected: sodium hyaluronate third, biotin and panthenol high, then octapeptide-2, copper tripeptide-1 and polypeptide-23 after the active. Fourteenth is isopropyl cloprostenate — one of the three compounds the SCCS concluded cannot be considered safe in cosmetic lash products, and the one most often named in reports of eyelid darkening and orbital fat loss. Unlike RevitaLash and GrandeLASH-MD, RapidLash does not annotate it on the label.

Full ingredient list

Water, Rhizobian Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Biotin, Panthenol, Panthethine, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Allantoin, Cucurbita Pepo Seed Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Alcohol Denat., Isopropyl Cloprostenate, Octapeptide-2, Copper Tripeptide-1, Glycerin, Glycine Soja Oil, Phosphatidylcholine, Polypeptide-23, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sorbic Acid.

How it performed

Solid rather than remarkable. Visible change from week six, with moderate length and density gains by week twelve — a step behind XLASH and GrandeLASH-MD on the same class of active. Two testers reported mild irritation.

Who it is for

People who want an analogue serum from a familiar high-street name. Same exclusions as every ICP product: glaucoma, prescribed eye drops, pregnancy, breastfeeding, light irises.

The verdict

Ranked #11 of 15

A competent serum whose main problem is that it sits on a pharmacy shelf next to analogue-free conditioners with nothing to tell shoppers the difference.

Safety note

This product contains Isopropyl Cloprostenate. Prostaglandin analogues are associated with darkening of the eyelid skin, loss of fat around the eye socket and, rarely, permanent change to iris colour. Do not start it if you have glaucoma or ocular hypertension, or use prescribed eye drops, without speaking to a clinician. Patch-test first, photograph your eyes for a baseline, and stop if you notice redness, swelling, darkening or any change to your vision.

We review products, we are not clinicians, and this is not medical advice. Ingredient information was taken from the manufacturer's published INCI list on 13 August 2026 — formulas change and brands sell variants under similar names, so check the pack you are holding.
